Verdict

1/5 — expensive for little to do, oppressive silence rules, almost no sauna culture, lemon water only. Beautiful Old Montreal location does not save the experience.

Atmosphere

Scandi styling, but boredom arrives fast. Absolute silence rule feels surveilled rather than restorative. Staff barely present; hygiene/sauna norms are not enforced.

Heat culture (or lack of it)

Few cabins. Guests sit in wet swimsuits on wood without towels — a hard no for European sauna culture. Steam: one eucalyptus room. Cold plunge and showers exist for the Nordic loop. Warm: one big whirlpool where everyone sits silently.

Journey

Aufguss and F&B

No real Aufguss. Guests misuse the ladle/bucket to splash their own foreheads. Food/drinks: lemon water only. Massages available as add-ons that push an already high price higher. Cleanliness of wood suffers from wet textiles.

Who should skip / who might still go

Skip if you care about heat craft. The surrounding Old Montreal cafés and streets are excellent — eat outside, don't expect a spa meal inside.

Deeper take: why 1/5

It is not only “too expensive”. It is oppressive silence, invisible staff, wet swimsuits on wood, ladle misuse instead of Aufguss, and lemon water as the entire F&B offer. The hot-cold-rest loop exists technically without culture. Massages are fine and raise the bill. Old Montreal outside is excellent — eat there.
